Hope abandoned; courage found | Acts 27:13-26
Paul identifies God as, “the God to whom I belong and whom I serve”. Is that our description of God, our Lord for you? Do we belong to Him?
Same cup of suffering? | Matthew 26:69-75
Does drinking the cup of wine at the dinner symbolize taking on suffering? Maybe. But surely not as Jesus did for the sins of all men. Now Peter is refusing the suffering that belongs to Jesus’ disciples (John 16:33).
Hope in disappointment | Matthew 26:30-35
Jesus predicts the others will also desert Him. But then…in the midst of such great disappointment, He gives them hope. He will meet them again in Galilee.
Hope in suffering | Genesis 37:31-36
If you don’t know the story, you can guess that God is preparing something special in this suffering. It’s no coincidence that this is where Joseph ends up.
Signs of hope | Genesis 4:25-26
Seth was another sign of hope – that God would provide. The first sign was the promise to Eve that her seed would crush the serpent’s head. Then Seth had Enosh.

In but not Of the world | John 17:15-19
Jesus saves His disciples out of the world then sends them back into the world as His servants and soldiers, His representatives, to reach the others yet lost.
Confusion, grief, joy | John 16:16-22
As the situation changes, our emotions change. But God doesn’t change. The truth never changes. For eternity, faith, hope and love remain. (1 Cor 13:13).
