At some point, tension likely arose between their herdsman, as was the case with Abraham and Lot (Genesis 13:5-7). Here, surprisingly, Esau is the peacemaker.

Guilt altar | Genesis 33:12-20
Jacob built an altar. He calls it El-Elohe-Israel – meaning “God, the God of Israel”. Seems like a good thing to do, right? My take on this is he feels guilty.
Warm welcome | Genesis 33:4-11
What a surprise! Rather than running at him with a spear and sword to kill him, Esau runs to him with outstretched arms.
Out in front | Genesis 33:1-3
Lest we think Jabob has fallen back into fear, he demonstrates courage and manly responsibility. He puts himself out in front.
Pacify the problem | Genesis 32:13-21
Jacob fist thought to split into 2 camps. Now he tries the “kill them with kindness” approach. He seeks to pacify the problem. Did God give him this new idea?
Desperate cry | Genesis 32:6-12
Have you been there? The “sky is falling” around you. You are afraid of what might happen or what might not happen – like the horrible situation won’t change.
Wrong remorse | Genesis 28:6-9
He felt some form of remorse for his actions and sought to please his father by getting another wife, one he thought dad would approve of.
God’s plan prevails | Genesis 27:39-45
Regardless, what is missing? Faith in the promise of God. However, we know that God will work through this lack of faith to accomplish His sovereign will.
Bamboozled again | Genesis 27:30-38
Mayhem erupts as they both realize Jacob had just deceived Isaac and stole Esau’s blessing. Esau had been bamboozled again by Jacob!
Intended blessing | Genesis 27:1-4
Isaac intended to bless Esau. Most note that Isaac is more pleased with Esau and his “rough and ready”, outdoorsy spirit as stated in (Genesis 25:28) than Jacob
