Jesus is a stumbling block, an offense. Why? Pride. Jesus calls all who want to receive Him to repent of their sins which requires a humble act of confession.

We have derailed desires and egregious expectations and then we either don’t ask or, when we do ask, we ask for the wrong reasons.

More importantly, He wants them to know they shouldn’t be thinking about who is great, but what makes someone great. And it’s not as the world thinks.

Is there sin that you have not confessed? Jesus urges us to confess and repent. Confession and repentance is not just a one-time act at conversion.

Jesus’ ministry begins | Matthew 4:12-17
What message did Jesus preach? It’s the same message as John the Baptist, his forerunner. Repent! (Matthew 3:2) This same message applies to people today.
