Most of us are not shepherds (dads are). How do we relate to this passage? We should see the need to support and pray for our shepherd, our pastor. Have you?

Suffering in judgment | 1 Peter 4:17-19
If we don’t also preach the judgment of God and His holiness and need to punish sin, I dare say that salvation is worthless, for from what are we saved?
Glory in suffering | 1 Peter 4:14-16
Do we experience persecution for taking on the name of Christ? Are there people who look down on you or even revile you in public / to your face?
Glory for trials | 1 Peter 4:12-13
Do you find it amazing that we should receive any glory, sinners such as we are before a righteous, holy God?! And how does it compre to man’s glory?
Live like last days | 1 Peter 4:7-11
Do we live as if the last days are coming, that Christ will come at any time? Are we ready? Or maybe the better question is, will we be taken with him?
Persecuted for position | 1 Peter 4:4-6
As we choose to follow Christ and living a life that pleases Him, that is increasingly free of sin, the world notices. It often results in persecution.
Not sinless, sin less | 1 Peter 4:1-3
So what’s a Christian to do? We understand the context and the reality of our sinful nature that we still sin. But the pattern should be less and less.
Flood like baptism | 1 Peter 3:21-22
Noah’s flood represents the baptism of believers. It is an “expression of a believer’s new life in Christ”. It is a sign of the cleansing of sin.
Suffering substitute | 1 Peter 3:18-20
Jesus, the perfect substitute, the righteous, sinless one, died in the place of the unrighteous. His sacrifice completely paid the penalty of the sin for all.
Suffer for goodness’ sake | 1 Peter 3:13-17
Are you boldly taking a stand for what is right? Keep it up, in Christ’s name. Are you being persecuted for it? Keep it up. Your have your reward in Heaven.
