The brothers fulfilled the wish of Jacob which they had vowed to him. The honored him. Are we careful when we make vows, and faithful to fulfill them?

Treated as royalty | Genesis 50:1-6
As we see how Jacob was treated due to Joseph, we see a picture of us and Christ. We are treated by God as royalty, sons of the King, because of Christ.

Then Jacob died, “was gathered to his people”. The tense confirms it happened immediately. It was not referring to the burial to come in the future.

I encourage you to meditate on these names of God. What does it mean that He is almighty? He is your Father. Take comfort in these words.

For one, we should not assume that our position, gifts or works will guarantee our future – even in Heaven. God sees our hearts.
