His return | Zechariah 14:4-5 (AMP)

4 In that day His feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives, which lies before Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in half from the east to the west by a very large valley, and half of the mountain will move toward the north and half of it toward the south. 5You will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; and you will flee just as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones (believers, angels) with Him.

Zechariah 14:4-5 (AMP)

Continued…

When the Lord fights for Jerusaem, His city (see yesterday), Jesus the Messiah will physically come down from Heaven. He will stand on the Mount of Olives which will split in two with a great earthquake. The persecuted Jews still remaining in Jerusalem will escape through the valley made by the split.

His return

A few thoughts:

  • It will be a magnificent display of power and glory. “Words cannot express more plainly the personal, visible, bodily, literal return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power.” (planobiblechapel.org quoting Feinberg)
  • The reference to the earthquake is in Amos 1:1.
  • The location is the same as His ascension in Acts 1:9-11: “9And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were watching, and a cloud took Him up, out of their sight. 10 And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, then behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them, 11 and they said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”” It’s also in Luke 24: 50-53.

Zechariah’s God

Zechariah reveals his love for the Lord, “the Lord my God”. This is not just a robot or secretary taking notes of the boss. It reflects His personal relationship with the Lord. I pray the same for myself. Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus?
