Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives.
The world and its desires pass away… – Man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro: He bustles about, but only in vain; he heaps up wealth, not knowing who will get it. – What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death!
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” – I would like you to be free from concern.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. – “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face towards you and give you peace.”
