A servant of Christ Jesus…
“You call me “Teacher” and “Lord,” and rightly so, for that is what I am.” – Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honour the one who serves me. – Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. – But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” – So you are no longer a slave, but a son.
Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. You my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature.
