When he appears, we shall be like him

None of those condemned things shall be found in your hands…

“Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing…” – Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. – Hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known.  But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.  Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. – For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope – the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
