Who have I in heaven but you?

My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of food; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.  On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.

How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.  When I awake, I am still with you. – How sweet are your promises to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! – Your love is more delightful than wine.

Whom have I in heaven but you? And being with you, I desire nothing on earth. – You are the most excellent of men.

Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my lover among the young men.  I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.  He has taken me to the banquet hall, and his banner over me is love. – His appearance is like Lebanon, choice as its cedars.  His mouth is sweetness itself; he is altogether lovely.  This is my lover, this is my friend.
